SQL Developer System Recommendations
For Windows OS: Following are minimum Recommendations
- Operating System: (Windows Server 2008 and Windows 10)
- CPU: Pentium IV 2GHZ or Higher
- Disk Space: 500MB
- Java SDK : JDK 8 or 11 for Windows, available at: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html.
Installing SQL Developer on Windows 10 or 11
Follow below steps to install SQL Developer on Windows:
- Go to the Oracle Technology Network page for SQL Developer at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/.
- If you do not need or want to install a suitable Java Development Kit (JDK 8 or 11), go to step 3. Otherwise, download and install the JDK as follows link

- Download SQL Developer at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/ , click the Downloads tab as following
- Read and accept the license agreement.
- Follow the instructions for downloading and installing SQL Developer.
- Unzip the SQL Developer file into a folder (directory) of your choice, which will be referred to as
<sql developer. Ensure that the Use folder names option is checked when unzipping the file.
- Copy to C:\Program File folder which is default installation path
Open Sqldeveloper folder where installation file available then double click to run installation wizard.
SQL Developer installation has started
During SQL Developer installation wizard setup prompt confirmation message ” Would you like to import preferences from a previous SQL Developer Installation?”
SQL Developer Installation Completed.
